We have designed and made wooden toys based on the Victorian design of a simple pulley toy. We tested them in the hall, then KS1 tested them and scored us out of 10. We got 11!

Thanks to all the parents and friends who came to our craft afternoon. It was lovely to have your support.

Another lovely festive trip to the church to see the Christmas trees. Ours was especially beautiful this year! ๐ŸŽ„

We have had fantastic morning at the town hall learning all about Christmas in Victorian times. We found out lots of amazing information and even met the mayor!

We have been reading "The Highway Man" by the Victorian poet, Alfred Noyes. We are turning this fantastic poem into a dramatic, descriptive story.Watch this space...

We are reading "Street Child" by Berlie Doherty. In English we have written newspaper recounts about when poor Jim saved his cruel master Grimy Nick from a coal disaster. Our writing is amazing!.

In our topic lessons we have been ordering timelines to discover when the Victorian period was and what important events happened during this time.

We are reading Street Child by Berlie Doherty in English. Dominik played the role of "Jim" and different children interviewed him. Dominik was a fantastuc Jim!

We also created "freeze frames" of different scenes from the book.
