Literacy: The Gingerbread Man
Today I would like you to watch the video below about the Gingerbread Man story retold as a song. This is done to deepen the understanding of the story and to think about using descriptive words in our work. At then end of the lesson is a task for your child to complete based around describing a picture.
Phonics: 'p' and Sound Blending video 1
Today you will be sent the link for the first of our Sound Blending videos. These are complete lessons, just like the Set 1 Speed Sounds videos. I will also send a text for a recap video of a sound that the children are still finding tricky based on our last assessment in school. If you would like something extra to do, please choose 3 sounds that we have looked at previously and ask your child to write these in their Home Learning book, eg, 'm', 'th' and 'g'. Can they write them without using the Read Write Inc image? Can they remember the formation rhyme that accompanies the sound, eg, 'down the long leg'.
Here is the next lesson from White Rose Maths around capacity, followed by an activity I can remember doing when I was in Brownies! Don't worry if you don't have a matchbox, a small tupperware box would also work. The important part of the activity is for your child to be able to identify what objects will and will not fit in the box. Please send pictures to Tapestry of all the objects you can fit in it, I wonder who will get the most in?!

This is an activity that always makes me giggle and can be done with any mobile, tablet or device. Use the mark up tool to add features to an object. Take a picture of anything in your house, an apple or a potato for example, and add eyes, a mouth, arms, anything you like! Here are some examples:
Take a photo, take a screenshot of an image online or open a photo in camera roll on your phone or tablet.
Tap the three dots in the top-right to use Markup or select a pen tool.
