Literacy: The Little Red Hen
Today I'd like you to finish your story map for The Little Red Hen. If you managed to get it all done yesterday, you could try to label the characters.
When using 'Fred Talk' to sound out the characters for your child, remember we only expect the children to write the sounds they can hear, for example, when sounding out 'little' we would say 'l - i - t - l'. You can't hear the two 't' sounds or the 'e' on the end.
It's also really important to remember that in Foundation we NEVER use the letter names, only the sounds they make. We would never say 'arr' for 'r' or 'dee' for 'd' for example.

Today will be the eighth video of Sound Blending at Home and a recap of the sound 'r'. After you have watched the videos, please Fred Talk these words for your child and see if they can blend them together. Some children may be able to attempt to write them in their Home Learning books as well.

Maths: Number bonds to 5
Below is a song for you to watch about number bonds to 5. After that there is a number bonds booklet with lots of activities for you to have a go at today and tomorrow. There is no expectation to complete all of the activities or print all of them out!! You can choose and print tasks that your child would like to do - my favourite is the rainbow one! 🌈

Healthy lifestyles - Eating and Sleeping
An important part of the Foundation curriculum is for the children to be able to explain why they need a healthy lifestyle and what makes them healthy. Sleep, exercise and a balanced diet all contribute to this. Here is a video about what we need to be healthy and stay healthy. Afterwards I'd like you to use Busy Things to make a healthy sandwich. What makes it healthy? Don't forget to send me a picture of your sandwich in Tapestry!
