⭐Wake and Shake every morning on Tapestry to get you ready for your busy day learning at home!⭐

Literacy: The Gingerbread Man

Now that you have 'innovated' a part of your story map we are going to turn your story into a zigzag book! This will be the very first story that our F2 children have written, I'm so excited! We will 'write' our story over the next two days. All you will need to make the zigzag book is a piece of A4 paper and a pencil. Please do half of your story today and half tomorrow. You can colour in your story if you wish, along with labelling any part of the story that you can, even if it is just the initial sound. Here is a video that shows you how to create the zigzag book. You will use the story map you made to make yours completely individual. I cant wait to see how they all turn out and how you edited the original story!

Phonics: 'k' and Sound Blending 3

Today we will recap 'k' and also watch the new Sound Blending 3 video. After you have watched these I would like your child to practise writing their first name independently. If they can attempt their surname as well then that is brilliant but please don't move on to this if your child is not confidently writing their first name, with most letters correctly formed. After they have written their name I would like them to practise writing 'p', 'g' and 'k' in their Home Learning books.

Maths: Ordering objects by length

After watching the next White Rose Maths video I would like you to find a selection of laces, strings or ribbons etc from your house, no more than five is necessary. Please take photos of the items you use and upload them to Tapestry.

⭐Can your child look at the lengths and say which is longest?

⭐Can they say which is shortest?

⭐Do they understand that all the lengths need to start from the same position to measure them accurately?

⭐Can your child order all the items from shortest to longest?

⭐Can your child suggest an object that would be shorter than the shortest item you have?

⭐Can your child suggest something that would be longer than the longest length item you have?

Healthy Eating Part 2

I loved seeing the different ways you explored healthy eating last week. This is the next activity in the sequence that explores different fruit and vegetables. At the end I would like you to go ahead and create a face out of fruit and vegetables. Don't worry, there are examples on the video! Can you child name all the different fruits or vegetables they have used? If you don't have any spare your child could draw a fruit or veg face instead!
