Literacy: Chinese New Year
Today we are going to turn the Chinese New Year story into a zig zag book. Just like we did last time, we need to think about how the story starts and draw that on the first page. Then each part of the story is on a different page. If you would like to do a story map instead that is completely fine! Don't forget - the pictures aren't the important part, what matters is your child retelling the story in the correct order. We will do the second half tomorrow.
Phonics: Sound Blending 13 and recap of 'z'
Today we are going to watch Sound Blending at Home 13 and watch the recap video for 'z'. Afterwards, please have a go at writing the following sounds -
You could also play a game of Buried Treasure (all Phase 2) blending on Phonics Play. The free log in is:
Maths: Sequencing daily events
Today we are going to get busy for maths - timing ourselves doing different activities! You will need a clock or watch for today's lesson (the stopwatch on your phone if you have one is great). We're going to begin by watching our next lesson and then timing ourselves doing the activities listed on the worksheet below.
Creative / Topic / Physical: Thinking Thursday
Music Mondays (all about singing, music and instruments)
Technology Tuesdays (activities on apps, Busy Things, activities using a pc or tablet)
Wellbeing Wednesdays (yoga, mindfulness, PE and relaxation)
Thinking Thursdays (Science, investigations, exploring the world and nature)
Fancy Fridays (art, making, baking and creating)
Chinese New Near:
Today I would like you to watch the video of a family getting ready to celebrate Chinese New Year. Can you draw me a picture of something a family might do and record yourself telling me about it?
