Boiler breakdown: Foundation, Year 1 and 2 are not in school on Thurs 10th, Fri 11th or Mon 14th January
Sadly the boiler in the KS1/Foundation building has broken down and temperatures are already dropping rapidly. This breakdown has happened at the end of the school day, but Mr Tranter has been quick to ensure that engineers have ordered the parts needed already, which arrive Fri to be fitted on Monday. We have to follow government Health and Safety guidance, which is that classrooms should be over 16 degrees centigrade and temperatures (with no heating on in there) will be well below this over the coming days with weather forecasts showing very cold weather is expected.
We understand that it is very difficult for parents at short notice when children are not in school, but are unable to relocate over 100 children into the other building and all of the equipment they need to help them learn too.
Children in Foundation and Key Stage 1 will not have their attendance affected by this, however children in Year 3, 4, 5,6 are expected to be in school and so any absence will affect attendance for them.
Thank you for your understanding and we will have this resolved as soon as possible so the children can learn in a warm, comfortable and safe environment.
