⭐Wake and Shake every morning on Tapestry to get you ready for your busy day learning at home!⭐
Literacy: The Gingerbread Man
Today I would like you to retell your story of The Gingerbread Man using your story map. It would be brilliant if you could record your child retelling their story and upload it to Tapestry. Here is a video of one of our amazing F2 children retelling their story using their map.
This week will be a little different for phonics. Today you will receive the link for the last of the Set 1 speed Sounds 'nk'. From tomorrow you will receive a recap video for a sound that most of the children need more practise with and also a 'Blending At Home' video. There won't be any more writing practise sheets to accompany the videos as we have already completed these.
Last week we talked about Fred Talk and how Fred the frog can only speak in single sounds and we have to blend the sounds together to say the word. The 'Blending At Home' videos show us how to do this. They are a complete lesson, just like the Speed Sound videos and your child will practise blending letter sounds together to read words. Once they are really speedy and confident then they will be given their first reading book called Sound Blending Books. I will email you individually with details of how to access these reading books when the time comes.
I'm so glad that all the children seem to be enjoying these practical maths activities. Whilst worksheets play an important part of our Home Learning, Foundation age children learn so much by hands on activities that they can do themselves. Today I would like you to watch the video below and then find a cup in your house. After this I would like you to find three different containers. Some examples would be:
⭐ A drinking glass or beaker
⭐ A bucket or washing up bowl
⭐ A measuring jug
⭐ A bowl
⭐ A plant pot
⭐ A bottle
Can you guess how many cups it will take to fill your container? You could write it in your Home Learning book like this:
Creative / Topic / Physical: Music Monday
Music Mondays (all about singing, music and instruments)
Technology Tuesdays (activities on apps, Busy Things, activities using a pc or tablet)
Wellbeing Wednesdays (yoga, mindfulness, PE and relaxation)
Thinking Thursdays (Science, investigations, exploring the world and nature)
Fancy Fridays (art, making, baking and creating)
The Woodlands Part 3
I just can't believe it's time for us to do our music session again, where has the time gone?! This is the final part of our Woodland music lessons before we move on to looking at The Rainforest next week. I hope you enjoy it, I cannot stop singing "hello, hello, hello, are you ready to play..." I think I'm going to have to start to learn how to play the ukulele so we can do this when we go back to school! 🎸
