Maths – Shape of the WeekOur new shape today is a ‘TRIANGLE’. With a grown up watch our shape song and join in if you can.
After the song with a grown up look at the shapes below and see if you can recognise ‘a TRIANGLE’. (If your child is unsure on the name of the shape you can name it for them). With an adult talk about a squares features such as ‘3 sides and a point’.
Shape Picture Challenges
Challenge 1 - When you go for walk or around the house see if you can see a circle, star, square, rectangle and triangle around you. There might be some hiding in the packaging in the supermarket, or on the swings and roundabout. You could draw some of the shapes you see.
Challenge 2 - Cut some different shapes out of paper and attach some sellotape to the back of the shapes. See how many different things you can build with the shapes. You can move the shapes around to makes lots of different pictures if you use sellotape.
Phonics – Read Write Inc Picture Recognition
Today the new picture card is ‘ROBOT’.
From this week all phonics activities will be on Tapestry with a video of Miss Harding teaching the lesson.

Draw a picture or make a model of the Gingerbread Man. You can use crayons, paints, pencils or make a model using playdough, cardboard boxes or tubes. Don’t forget to post pictures of your creation on Tapestry.
