Literacy: The Gingerbread Man
Today is the day for us to finish our story map of The Gingerbread Man. If your child has drawn all their pictures they can colour it in or attempt to write labels for their pictures.
To assist with 'sounding out' or 'blending' Read Write Inc use a strategy called Fred Talk. This is where Fred only speaks in sounds and we have to blend the word he is trying to say. At the moment, with the sounds we are learning in F2, the majority of the words your child is going to be able to attempt to blend are CVC (consonant, vowel, consonant) words such as: mat, leg, hat, log or pig.
For the purpose of the story map your child may be able to blend 'm-a-n' or 'f-o-x'. Why not have a go at using Fred Talk for these words and see if your child can blend them and write them.
Here is a video that explains Fred Talk in a bit more detail:
Today the phonics video will be for the 'special friends' sound 'ng'. After the practise sheet I would like you to have a go at drawing two of the 'ng' items below. Send me a picture on Tapestry and I'll see if I can guess what you have drawn:
Today we are going to look at capacity - how much something holds. Have a look at the glasses below. Can you describe them?
⭐ Which of the glasses is full?
⭐ Is one of the glasses empty?
⭐ Which one is nearly full?
⭐ Which one is nearly empty?
These are some things that we are going to explore in the video below and then there is an activity for you to have a go at afterwards.
Creative / Topic / Physical: Fancy Friday
