Welcome to Foundation Stage!

Show respect, Work together, Aspire, Nurture

Mrs Ellis, Mrs Hopewell & Mrs Watts

A warm welcome to the Foundation class page! We hope you've all had a lovely summer holidays and can't wait to work with you and your children this year.

Due to the school following guidelines to ensure the safety of the whole school community, communication will be different to what we are used to with parents/carers. If you have any questions or need to pass on information please do not hesitate to contact me via email: and I will get back to you at the nearest opportunity.

We hope these pages help you to support your child(ren) with their learning. From September 2021 in Foundation we will be combined into one class which includes Foundation 1 part-time children (3-4 year olds) and Foundation 2 full-time children (4-5 year olds).

For Foundation 1 children we offer the 30 hour free childcare extended entitlement. If you would like to find out more information please visit our 30 hour extended entitlement childcare page

The staff and children work closely alongside each other to make sure your child(ren) have the best possible experience whilst at Lovers' Lane in Foundation Stage.

Once we had learnt the song and was able to sing it with confidence we performed it as a class to show our Mummyโ€™s and Daddyโ€™s on tapestry. We hope you all enjoy watching it and listening to our performance.

Thank you to all the parents who attended the Reception Phonics Workshop. It was a great turnout and we hope you all found it useful.

PE will be on Wednesday morning, the children are to come in school on this day in their PE kit: school jumper, plain navy/black/grey jogging trousers or shorts and a plain white/navy/black/grey T-shirt with trainers is expected. PE will be done outside, weather permitted.

Learning and well-being

The main focus for the children is to ensure they are happy and settled in school especially with the uncertainty children have had over the past few years in school. We will be providing them with many opportunities to share and discuss their experiences, worries and support with gaps in learning.
