In the Foundation Stage, your child's learning is guided by the statutory requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage. This is composed of 7 areas of learning. Below you can find more information about each area of learning and some photos of activities we have been doing to support each area.

F1's Latest News

We took part in ‘No Pens Wednesday’ where we weren’t allowed any pens, so we did lots of talking games. In these photos we were talking about emotions.

To celebrate Diwali we made our own Diva lamps out of clay!

We’ve enjoyed making poppy biscuit to remember all the soldiers!

Key reminders

  • PE is on a Tuesday morning and Thursday afternoon. We ask please can you send your child in their PE kit. The PE kit includes navy/black jogging bottoms or leggings for girl, plain black or navy shorts, plain white t-shirt,  navy jumper or sweatshirt and trainers for outdoors, plimsolls for indoors.

  • Reading – Your child should be reading at least 4 times a week to be in line with the new school expectations. We change books on a Monday and only if the reading diary shows you have been reading at home.

  • Home fun – Each week with your child we ask please can you complete at least 1 home fun task. We collect the home fun books in on a Tuesday and send them out again on a Thursday.

If you have any problems with any of the above feel free to ask any member of staff in Foundation.
