Year 5

Welcome to Year 5!

Welcome to the Year 5 class page. This is our class page where you can see what we are learning each term and all the useful resources to help you at home.

The class teacher is Mr Baxter (who started at the beginning of the Summer Term) and the Teaching Assistant is Mrs Fixter.

This term we have been learning about Space and Beyond. We have been learning about our solar system, including the Earth and Moon's rotation and revolution around the Sun. We have been using chalk to produced solar system artwork and have been inspired by Vincent Van Gogh's painting 'Starry Night' to inspire some unusual paintings on tinfoil! In English we have written newspaper reports based on the Challenger Shuttle disaster.

In maths we have been learning new methods - including formal long multiplication and converting improper to mixed fractions.

We have visited the National Space Centre in Leicester this term - look below at our exciting photos taken of the day!
