F1 Part-Time Children

Welcome to the Foundation 1 Class Page

On here you can find out lots of information about what we are learning. Also there are some items for you to use to support your child's learning. 

How can you help your child with their learning journey?

In the Foundation Stage, your child's learning is guided by the statutory requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage. This is composed of 7 areas of learning. Below are the 7 areas of learning with some activity ideas and internet links you can use to help your child at home.


- Play any games with them that involves sharing and taking turns such as snap, snakes and ladders.





- Read a range of stories with your child getting them to join in with parts of the story.





- Encourage your child to be active indoors and outdoors.

- To strengthen your child's pencil grip and finger strength go to Youtube and let them play along to 'Dough Disco'.


- To support your child with their writing go on YouTube and let them draw with Squiglet in 'Get Squiggling'.




- Sing any number rhymes or number songs.

- Talk about numbers and shapes in the environment.




- Talk about the world around you when out and about in the environment.




- Let your child dance and move around with Koo Koo Kangaroo on Youtube.

- Visit the following website and let your child join in with Boogie Beebies -                             




In Foundation 1 we are now learning new signs to make our talking hands. See below our signs of the week that you can use at home.

Story Telling with the Children's Centre

We've been making our own Gingerbread Men after reading The Gingerbread Man story!

A few reminders


  • PE is on a Thursday and we ask please can you send your child in their PE kit. The PE kit includes navy/black jogging bottoms or leggings for girl, plain black or navy shorts, plain white t-shirt,  navy jumper or sweatshirt and trainers for outdoors, plimsolls for indoors. 





  • Forest School is on a Friday, please make sure your child comes in suitable clothing for having lots of fun the outside area which includes warm clothing and wellington boots.





  • Reading – Your child should be reading at least 4 times a week to be in line with the new school expectations. We change books on a Monday and only if the reading diary shows you have been reading at home.


  • Home fun – Each week with your child we ask please can you complete at least 1 home fun task. We collect the home fun books in on a Tuesday and send them out again on a Thursday.
